Locally Customized “e-Zine” Online Magazine

GSC created an online virtual magazine that could be fully personalized by each local affiliate, using a simple control panel . This "Web e-Zine" employs page-flip effects controlled intuitively by the reader’s mouse, a "riffling front page" that invites the reader to open the catalogue, plus click-to-buy for any item or coupon. The resulting Clickthrough and viewership rates are more than double typical industry levels.

Challenge: 

This franchise network with 200 local affiliates, each with varying inventory and coupons, needed a different monthly promotional magazine for each local affiliate.

Online In-Banner Registration and Enrollment

GSC developed a Flash-based banner that not only incorporated full motion and a multi-part message, but also encompassed complete enrollment functions, with a two-month Calendar, zipcode tables, and full input field logic. Astonishingly, all of these features were incorporated into the banner within an opening size limitation of 40 kilobytes.

Online Video Support

GSC combined a fluid editing style and high production values with specialized video conversion techniques that assured the video content was readily viewable online even using lower-speed connections. More importantly from the client perspective, the development and production processes were seamless, and avoided the need to coordinate multiple vendors.

It was important that strategic themes and the overall "look" matched other content on their websites. Cost efficiency was also a factor.

Online Owner's Manual/Reference Manual

GSC developed a form of online Owner’s Reference Manual that functioned like "a multimedia search engine for your car". Searching by keyword or by simply clicking on the interior or exterior elements of the vehicle enables viewers to instantly find vitally needed information, which includes not just Owner’s Manual text but also videos and animations.

Challenge: 

This automaker recognized that placing Owner’s Manuals online was a key component of Customer Satisfaction. But providing Manuals as large PDF files was both clumsy and difficult to quickly search.
